The main objective of using a biting insect trap is to collapse the population of blood seeking insects in your area.
Scientists have developed ways to rid the world of mosquitoes...... however this would drastically damage the food chain.
The average life of a Mosquito is about three weeks. During this time the Mosquitoes objective is to mate, obtain blood and lay its eggs. Once this has been completed the Mosquito dies. Then the cycle starts over again. (Click for Life Cycle)
With the trap running 24 hours a day you will be able to trap the female mosquitoes that are looking for a blood meal so that they can lay their eggs. You cannot trap the Larvae and Pupa until they have developed into mosquitoes. The time between egg to mosquito is somewhere between six to eight weeks.
You will notice a difference to the amount of Mosquitos, Sandflies and Midges once the trap is running……….but it will take between six to eight weeks to significantly collapse the population in your area. The trap just canot capture the Eggs Larvae and Pupa.
